ORDINANCE NO,34-2023
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ANNUAL COMPENSATION
AND BENEFITS OF RICHMOND POLICE OFFICERS
WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-8-3-3td)requires Common Council of the City of Richmond,Indiana
to fix the annual compensation of all police officers by ordinance before November 1st
of each year for the ensuing budget year;and
WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-8-3-3(0)also authorizes the Hoard of Public Works and Safety to
fix the compensation of members of the Richmond Police Officers if the Common Council fails
to do so;and
WHEREAS, It is in the best interest of the City of Richmond that the Common Council of the City
of Richmond,Indiana proceed to fix the annual compensation of the Richmond
Police Officers pursuant to Indiana Code 36-8-3-3(d).
NOW,THERI,,FORE be it ordained by the Common C:ouncil of the City of Richmond,Indiana,
that pursuant to Indiana Code 36-8-3-3(d)the following positions are authorized by the Common Council
to be compensated not in excess of the respective sums hereafter set forth durMg calendar year 2024 to wit
Police Department
Bi-Weekly

1.01 Captain 2,486.61
I.02 Lieutenant 2,419.38
1.03 Sergeant 2,352.01
1:04 Investigator 2,251.13
1:05 Patrohnan 2,150.24
1.06 Probationary Patrolman A 2,042.73
1.07 Probationary Patrolman B 1,935.22
NOW„TIIEREFORE,be it also ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,Indiana,
that as additional compensation to the hi-weekly salaries set forth in Sections 1.01 through 1.07 above,all
benefits finalized and as in the fully executed contract between the Board of Public Works and Safety on behalf
of the City of Richmond,Indiana and the John Hennigar I.„odge No.63 of the Fraternal Order of Police
is incorporated by reference
