HomeMy Public PortalAbout044-2023 - Grant - HPC - Indiana Landmarks COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA AMENDED ORDINANCE NO. 44-2023 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEFTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM INDIANA LANDMARKS WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4-10, a municipality may execute any documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal government or any other source, and said documents are prepared and executed by the City executive administration, provided that the Common Council of the City of Richmond as the legislative body of the City approves an ordinance for the appropriation of any monies received in accordance with IC 36-4-6-18; and WHEREAS, Indiana Landmarks has grant funding available through its Historic, Preservation Education Grant program; and WHEREAS, The City of Richmond Department of Infrastructure and Development("I&D") desires to submit a grant application to obtain funds in an amount not to exceed Three Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($3,000.00) which will be used to assist I&D and the City's Historic Preservation Commission with the hosting of a series of weekend workshops on the topics of maintenance and restoration of historic homes; and WHEREAS, A one-hundred percent (100%) local match is required and will come from an allowed combination of I&D appropriated budget funds and in-kind services contributed. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: 1. The City of Richmond, Indiana, in accordance with IC 36-1-4-10, has submitted or will submit a grant application to Indiana Landmarks for its Historic Preservation Education Grant program. 2. The City of Richmond through its Department of Infrastructure and Development, is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount of up to Three Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($3,000.00). 3. Said grant funding shall be used along with budgeted local match funds in an amount of up to Three Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($3,000.00) and contributed in-kind services to permit the hosting of a series of weekend workshops on the topics of maintenance and restoration of historic homes.
