Our natural beauty is important for our emotional well being but the science of ecology makes it clear that humankind’s survival depends on having a healthy natural environment. Towards these ends, the City of Tybee is committed to a conservation ethic=protection of our natural habitats. Conservation of resources such as water, recycling, seeking alternative sources of energy and prevention of pollution of our marshes and ocean. In addition to saving money, these policies will improve the quality of life for our residents and attract ecotourists to enjoy our wildlife and natural beauty. Trish Mission Statement for Education Subcommittee: To inform, engage, and inspire through education of our residents, tourist, City Council Members and businesses to participate in, and adopt new patterns and behaviors of reserving and sustaining Tybee’s natural resources. Thoughts for our vision statement: What do we want Tybee to look like in 2 years, 5 years, 10 years, 20 years. What do we want people to start and continue to do now and throughout history. How do we want Tybee to be perceived and treated by Tourists? During advertising, upon arrival and during their stay?
