ORDINANCE NO. 46-2023
AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE
SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT
FROM THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY
WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4-10, a municipality may
execute any documents necessary to receive money from the state or
federal government or any other source, and said documents are prepared
and executed by the City executive administration, provided that the
Common Council of the City of Richmond as the legislative body of the
City approves an ordinance for the appropriation of any monies received
in accordance with IC 36-4-6-18; and
WHEREAS, The Indiana Department of Homeland Security has grant funding
available through its Mobile Integrated Healthcare Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond Fire Department desires to submit a grant
application to obtain funds which will be used to expand the City's
Paramedicine Program; and
WHEREAS, A one-hundred percent (100%) local match is required and would come
from the Fire Department's local EMS appropriated budget funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond in accordance with IC 36-1-4-10 has submitted or
will submit a grant application to the Indiana Department of Homeland Security
Foundation for the Mobile Integrated Healthcare Grant Program.
2. The City of Richmond Fire Department is authorized to accept said grant
funding in an amount up to Seventy-five Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($75,000.00)
from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security.
3. The local match of up to Seventy-five Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents
($75,000.00) will be provided from the Fire Department's local EMS appropriated
budget funds.
4. Said grant funding shall be used to expand the City's Paramedicine
Program operated by the Richmond Fire Department.
