minutes? Chantel said she will coordinate with Mallory in writing the article.
Energy:

Fire Station she said. She asked if it were a part of the grant reporting? Paul said it is not.
Bill commented on the lighting in the gym which is on 24-hours. Can motion sensors be installed?
Brad said we need a plan for building improvements. Right now there is no baseline. Paul asked
Chantel about the possibility of the Green Team doing energy audits on the buildings. Discussion
followed about the GA Power energy audit. Brad said there will be a touch screen in city hall to track
energy use in Memorial Park building. He will send the link to committee members.
Lisa raised the Chattanooga goals. We have a Green Team focused on saving energy for all of us. We
need to build unity. She said Chattanooga is important because their goals came from the top – the
mayor. Maybe we need to get Jason to state his top two goals.
Recycling:
Frank said he and Shelly are going to talk to businesses about recycling cardboard – an example of a
simple project. Bill asked if cardboard collection is something we can do by the end of the year?
Chantel thought there are still a lot of components; storage, collection spots, compacting, etc.

problem. Paul said the Water Fair, followed last year by Water and Energy Fair have been worthwhile
events. The committee has supported recycling efforts. Bill called for focusing a a couple of goals that
can be accomplished by the end of the year. Frank motioned, Lisa seconded, that 1. we increase
residential awareness, including rentals on how to recycle and 2. update information on energy
savings. All approved.
Bill read The Sustainble Projects and Inititives Outline, prepared by Trish and proposed for completion
by subcommittee chairs..
Lisa said she has the energy data compiled. Who should report to council? The committee agreed to ask
the city clerk to report.
