Regular session of Town to- day own Council was held to day at 4:00 pm. and was attended by the Mayor, who presided, and Councilmen. Logan, Cann, Espy and Farr and Town Attorney McIntyre. The Mayor informed �a,�aitctiat he had written several letters to Mr. A. F. Solms relative to encroachment of his property on the Strand • at Izlar Avenue, but had never received a reply to any of them. The Town Attorney was instructed to notify Mr. Solm that if this enoroachment was not removed within sixty days the Town will take the necessary action to have said encroachment removed. The Mayor informed Council that he had been approached by Mr. Marvin O'Neal, Attorney for Mr. Wiggins, relative to collection of 450.00 and cost which the City Court found against Lieut. Hildreth recently. The Mayor said that he thought we should pay it. Mr. O'Neal refused to accept it contending that this money should be paid by Lieut. Hildreth, so on motion of Mr. Cann that Lieut. Hildreth be allowed extra compensation of $50.00 as paid for services rendered at Toll Gate, this was seconded by Mr. Espy and motion passed. The Mayor informed Council that he made an inspection of the Island after the recent storm to assertain what damage had been done, found out that the damage was comparatively slight, the works of the Town had held up well but some private property such as Tybrisa Pav- ilion, Izlar Bath House, Tybee Bath House, the sea had eaten away a portion of the Beach along these properties and had washed out con - siderable sand and had caused numerous pilings {pocked from under some of these places. The Mayor said he f e communication to the Tybee Amusement Company requesting that they place a Bulkhead in front of the Breaker's property but that they contended the Buldhead As planed in front of the property on the Strand should be .done by the Town. Mr. Cann motioned that some plan should be worked out whereby the Island could be beati*tified, he said trees and flowers should be planted to add beauty to the Island, he said Willow trees, Royal Poincianias, Wild Myrtle, would grow on Tybee, Mrs. W. W. Chisholm offered to give to the Town some Myrtle trees, he said the Town should spend at least four or five hundred dollars for this work, so Mr. Espy made a motion that the Town appropriate $250.00 to be used in this work, this was seconded by Mr. Farr and motion passed. The Mayor appointed Yr. Cann and Mr. Logan as Committee on Beautification,with power to appoint any necessary assistants. There being no further business Council adjourned subject to the call of the Mayor. ,Clerk of Council. Mayor.
