HomeMy Public PortalAbout20150119_CRCMinutes.pdf Community Resource Committee Meeting Minutes: January 19, 2015 MEMBERS PRESENT Kathryn Propst, Freda Rutherford, Ron Bossick, Paul Wolf, Bud Matlock, Bill O’Brien, Frank Kelly, Ashley Workman, David Turner GUEST(S) PRESENT Leotis Bloodworth CALL TO ORDER Kathryn called the meeting to order at 4:05pm December 15, 2014 MINUTES Freda makes a motion to approve December 15, 2015 minutes, Bill seconds, motion is unanimously approved. ANNOUNCEMENTS All in favor to reimburse Micheal Bodine for Solarize Domain name. Freda invites all to Forever Tybee Potluck- Mayor and 3 city council positions up for a vote in this years’ election. Response to RFP should come by Monday 1/26. REPORTS AND DISCUSSIONS Paul reports there is still solar install- 10kw or less for 3rd party financing. Come up with a plan for scoring the checklist for a minium criteria review. Kathryn suggests a subcommittee meeting for the review-Tuesday, 1/27 @ 10am. Paul announces a Solarize meeting on February 24 @ 6:30pm at the Civic Center. The bill for 3rd party financing could be inacted by April 15. David suggests bringing in Solar City to give interested parties more finance options. Kathryn recommends a thorough explanation of financial process and define the bill. Set up 2015 Goals-all agree communication should be included in all areas. Use of marketing-add inserts to water bill. Kathryn suggests getting water usage to be measured with gallons on the water bills. Bill suggests a monthly news letter for updates in each committee. Leotis speaks about his company which repurposes plastic bags, bottles and Styrofoam. They have a initiated a pilot program with Georgia Southern in which they create fabrics and other marketing products. Interested in working with Tybee to make city uniform shirts. Freda makes a recommendation to take current proposed projects- 1. Are we monitoring facility? 2.What about lift stations? 3.Where is the new wells future? Bill recommends quarterly reports on fuel usage by police dept. Ron gives update on the gym- roof is sagging and the insulation must come out. Humidity levels are through the roof (pun intended?) Bill suggests looking into big fans because they can reduce temp by 8 degrees. NEW BUSINESS 2015 goals- Solarize Project, Plastic Bag ordinance ADJOURN Meeting adjourned at 5:30pm
