HomeMy Public PortalAbout20150216_CRCMinutes.pdf Community Resource Committee Meeting Minutes: February 16, 2015 MEMBERS PRESENT Kathryn Propst, , Ron Bossick, Paul Wolf, Bud Matlock, Bill O’Brien, Frank Kelly, Ashley Workman, David Turner, Tim Arnold GUEST(S) PRESENT Monty Parks, Dean Hardy CALL TO ORDER Kathryn called the meeting to order at 4:05pm January 19, 2015 MINUTES Bill makes a motion to approve December 15, 2015 minutes, Frank seconds, motion is unanimously approved. ANNOUNCEMENTS Kathryn announces that Thunderbolt is participating in the rain barrel program. The Forever Tybee Yard sale is Saturday 2/21. Solarize meeting at the civic center on 2/24. Stakeholder’s Workshop II on 2/18. Recycle committee meeting 3/2. REPORTS AND DISCUSSIONS Discussion of revisions of the wording for the sup ordinance in reference to paper bag charge and all plastic bags vs. gauge for certain situations, eg trash bags for beach sweeps. Kathryn suggests getting water usage chart in gallons for water bill (again). Monty reports on energy tracking of the new building- $500 more than old building but still leveling out. It is already retrofit for solar panels. The Y, the gym, and public safety building approved for solar assessment. Big Ass Fans will come to do an assessment of the gym. David recommends a suspended ceiling which is cheaper than insulation. Frank suggests calling GA power for an energy audit-lights being left on with inefficient bulbs. Ask Diane to call to have assessment of old school, fire department and Y. No word from waste management on recycle compliance program or stickers/magnets. Ron suggests renegotiating our contract with waste pro to include reports when time comes. Bill suggest quarterly report on car fuel costs for each police dept. Paul recommends creating a template for an action item plan those departments should submit and assuming their slide card system works, collect the data. NEW BUSINESS Kathryns’ recycle information flyers for the vacation rentals are finished! ADJOURN Meeting adjourned at 5:15pm
