CALL TO ORDER
Kathryn calls the meeting to order at 3:30pm
March 16.2015 MINUTES
Bill makes a motion to approve, Ron seconds the motion. The motion passes unanimously.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Freda applauds clean up effort after Orange Crush but recommends same application for other
events. Paul announces a great response for the Solarize Booth at Earth Day and sign ups continue
until April22,2015.
REPORTS AND DISCUSSIONS
Paul discusses strategy to re-contact unsigned contracts for Solarize. 60% ofthe cost of
installation is labor and The next hurtle is the legislative level to see real economic gain. Paul
asked Tommy Branch to put the single use plastic bag ban ordinance on t}re agenda for a vote at
the April 23 City Council meeting. Freda discusses water goals. Nalene is the best person to
discuss water bill with but currently can't monitor usage or energy savings by reprogramming to
gallons due to expense and upcoming elections. Paul informs there will be a meeting to discuss
the well and will most likely drill before buildings restrooms. Discussion about Rain Barrels for
Public Safety Building, very inexpensive. Ron announces that the new ac units on the gym are
reporting higher figures than the year before, l8o/oinFebruary and l5o/o in March. Ron will ask
Todd for a report and will look into the web portal. Discussion of the new police stations
operating plan and humidity confrol. Kathryn suggests this should be a model for how city
buildings are managed. Harurah said the building is not fitted for solar. Kathryn recomrnends a
dashboard to monitor city costs.
NEW BUSINESS
Begin discussion about recycle compactor and monitoring disposal. Paul gets recycle stations put
on the beach.
