Kathryn
called
the
meeting
to
order
at
4:00pm.

19,

MINUTES
David
made
a
motion
to
approve
the
Community
Resource
Committee
meeting
minutes
from
May
19,
2014.
Ashley
seconded
the
motion.
The
motion
passed
unanimously.
ANNOUNCEMENTS

REPORTS
AND
DISCUSSION
Recycling:
Kathryn
welcomed
James
Lanier
with
Waste
Pro.
James
and
Committee
Members
discussed
the
need
for
a
recycling
magnet
that
simply
states
what
is
acceptable.
Kathryn
shared
an
example
she
has
with
him.
He
confirmed
he
will
work
on
magnets
and
stickers
for
the
recycling
containers.
He
will
also
work
on
a
flyer
that
can
be
distributed.
Members
expressed
concern
with
discrepancies
between
recycling
numbers
being
reported.
James
will
bring
curbside
recycling
tickets
and
garbage
tickets
by
day,
by
truck
to
the
next
meeting.
Kathryn
confirmed
that
Sherri
with
Pratt
is
working
on
gathering
information
for
popup
coolers
that
can
be
used
instead
of
styrofoam
coolers.
BYOB
Week,
June
14
–
22:
Ashley
reported
that
the
BYOB
campaign
is
going
well.
She
has
distributed
350
bags
to
seven
island
restaurants.
Solar
estimates
for
PSB
&
YMCA:
The
committee
discussed
the
need
to
use
accumulated
dollars
from
energy
savings
in
Memorial
Park
in
order
to
get
off
the
grid.
City
Restroom
Improvements
/
Beach
Showers:
Don
presented
the
information
that
was
previously
given
to
City
Council
when
he
was
a
member
of
the
CRC.
At
that
time,
he
worked
with
SCAD
to
prepare
four
phases,
which
he
presented
to
the
committee.
Water
Resources
Reform
&
Development
Act:
N/A
Water
Bill
/
Newsletter
blurb
for
July:
Kathryn
and
Ashley
will
send
Michael
information
regarding
the
BYOB
campaign
to
include
in
the
City’s
July
water
bill
newsletter.
NEW
BUSINESS
Bill
reviewed
the
committee’s
recommendations
for
police
vehicles.
