HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-22-2024 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FEBRUARY 22, 2024 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER Member Lopeman ca 100 ed the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Jamie Lopeman and Dustin Purvis. Absent was Emily Palmer and Matt Evans. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney; Monica Burns, Deputy City Clerk; Bill Henry, Code Enforcement; Derek Hill, Code Enforcement; Cedric James; Code Enforcement; Major Adam Blanton; Police Chief Kyle Weatherly; Thomas Hill, GIS Coordinator; Kara Noe, Purchasing; Councilor Anne Taylor; and Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Purvis moved to approve the minutes of February 15, 2024, supported by Mr. Lopeman. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Purvis moved to approve the Claims for Payment for February 23, 2023 in the amount of Sixty Three Thousand One Hundred Fourteen Dollars and ninety eight cents ($63,114.98), supported by Mr. Lopeman. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Purvis moved to approve Payroll Claims for Payment for February 23, 2023 in the amount of Eight Hundred Seventy Four Thousand Two Hundred Seven Dollars and eighty six cents ($874,207.86), supported by Mr. Lopeman. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Proof of Publication by Law Department for Bid Letting in connection with 37 NW "F" Street 344 Grace Drive; 611 North 20'1' Street; and 219 South 12th Street Mr. Purvis moved to accept the Proof of Publication, supported by Mr. Lopeman. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. B. Public Hearing on costs to be incurred and Bids Received. Member Lopeman opened the floor for Public Hearing. There being no one for or against, the Public Hearing was closed. Bids were referred to Code Enforcement. CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 25-2024 —WETZEL CHRYSLER, DODGE AND JEEP The City retains Contractor to furnish three (3) 2023 Dodge Charger Police cruisers with AWD for the Police Department Not to exceed $106,806.00 Mr. Purvis moved to approve, supported by Mr. Lopeman. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 29-2024 —FRED NOE DBA FLOW RIGHT MECHANICAL The City has purchased air conditioning units as a part of its Beat the Heat program initiative in cooperation with the Wayne County Trustee's application process for said units. The City retains Contractor to perform services to install the units for the Department of Infrastructure and Development at the applicant locations chosen by the County during the application process. Not to exceed $5,000.00 Mr. Purvis moved to approve, supported by Mr. Lopeman. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. ADDENDUMS • ADDENDUM NO. 1 TO CONTRACT NO. 18-2023 — PARDO'S SERVICE, INC. The City wishes to retain Contractor to provide vehicle impound and storage area for the City effective April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025. The original terms of the contract remain the same. Mr. Purvis moved to approve, supported by Mr. Lopeman. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried.
