HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-07-2024 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INI)IANA, MARCH 7, 2024 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building, 50 North 5 ' Street, Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER Member Matt Evans called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Matt Evans and Jamie Lopeman. Emily Palmer was absent. Also in attendance we Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney; Monica Burns, Deputy City Clerk; Lieutenant Mike Black; Kara Noe, Purchasing; Cedric James, Code Enforcement; Major Adam Blanton; Major Brandon Krofta; Police Chief Kyle Weatherly; Sherrie Richie and Derek Hill, Code Enforcement; and Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Lopeman moved to approve the minutes of February 29, 2024, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Lopemen moved to approve the Claims for Payment for March 8, 2024 in the amount of One Hundred Fifty Seven Thousand One Hundred Fifty Seven Dollars and ninety three cents ($157,157.93), supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Lopeman moved to approve the Payroll Claims for Payment for March 8, 2023 in the amount of Eight Hundred Twenty Nine Thousand Three Hundred Forty Eight Dollars and six cents ($829,348.06), supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT FOR PENSION Mr. Lopeman moved to approve Payroll Claims for Payment for Pension in the amount of Eighty Eight Thousand Five Hundred Seventy Five Dollars and no cents ($88,575.00), supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. REQUESTS • NEW HANDICAP SIGN Board of Works Minutes March 7, 2024 111 South 5th Street Mr. Lopemen moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • SIDEWALK CLOSURE Date: March 8, 2024 to May 10, 2024 Whisenhunt,Inc., They are requesting a sidewalk closure for renovation of the former BSN building located at 920/930 East Main Street. They will be placing a temporary construction fence in front of the building to prevent pedestrians from walking in front of the building. The fence is six feet tall and would block the sidewalk adjacent to the building. The work will be conducted in an expeditious manner in order to reopen the sidewalk as soon as possible. Mr. Lopeman moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 19-2023 - ROTATION CONTRACT Christopher's Automotive LLC is requesting to be added to the City Towing Rotation. This Contract will be in effect through March 31, 2025 Mr. Lopeman moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 36-2024 — PRESTIGE PROPERTY PARTNERS LLC The City retains Contractor to provide services in connection with Phase 1 of the emergency clean up and sealing at 1548 South 6th Street for the Department of Code Enforcement. Not to exceed $600.00 Mr. Lopeman moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 38-2024 —DANA BRAWLEY D/B/A DANA BRAWLEY ART The City hereby retains Contractor to provide professional services to design and create two(2)wall murals within the Police Department. The Contractor shall perform all services as described in their proposal agrees to abide by the same. ADDENDUMS • ADDENDUM NO. 2 TO CONTRACT NO. 148-2023—RYAN'S FLOORING SALES AND SERVICE The City and Contractor entered into Contract No. 148-2023 on August 22, 2023, which Agreement retained Contractor to provide services for the installation of flooring in the Police Department squad room and squad office located on the first floor of the municipal building. The Parties have agreed the Contractor shall also install additional and consistent flooring in the police weight room and police cardio room, both rooms located on the first floor. Not to exceed $12,441.88 Mr. Lopeman moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. MISCELLANEOUS • BID OPENING CORRECTION Bids were opened on February 29, 2024 for the demolition of 211 South 1211' Street and 213 South 12th Street included a clerical error for B&B Construction of Richmond Inc. The bid should have read as follow: 211 South 12th Street - $4999.00 213 South 12th Street - $4999.00 Mr. Evans brought to the Board this Bid Opening Correction. There was no reason to take any action it was just to be noted in the minutes.
