Re: Ordinance 17-2024 Mobile Integrated Healthcare Grant
Ordinance 17-2024 is an appropriation ordinance authorizing the submittal, acceptance, and
appropriation of a grant from the Department of Health and Human Services in conjunction with
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
The Richmond Fire Department is preparing to submit an application on March 20th, 2024 to the
Department of Health and Human Services for up to $200,000 to fund the recruitment and
training of EMS personnel on addressing substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health
conditions. This grant requires a 10% match which will be provided as cash from budgeted
Emergency Medical Services funding.
