HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-14-2024 10* THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, MARCH 14, 2024 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER President Palmer called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Emily Palmer, Matt Evans and Jamie Lopeman. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney; Monica Burns, Deputy City Clerk; Lieutenant Mike Black; Sherrie Richey, Cedric James, Bill Smith and Derek Hill, Code Enforcement; Kara Noe, Purchasing; Danny Stamper; and Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Evans moved to approve the minutes of March 7, 2024, supported by Mr. Lopeman. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Claims for Payment for March 15, 2024 in the amount of Eighty One Thousand Two Hundred Sixty Six Dollars and nineteen cents ($81,266.19), supported by Mr. Lopeman. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve a Payroll Claims for Payment Correction for March 11, 2024 in the amount of Three Hundred Fifty Dollars and no cents ($350.00), supported by Mr. Lopemaa. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • STREET CLOSURE Girls Inc. of Wayne County 26th Annual zi Run/Walk Race Date: May 11, 2024 Time: 6:45 a.m. to approximately 10:30 a.m. Melissa Soper with Girls Inc. of Wayne County is requesting partial Closing of Sylvan Nook Drive for the start of their 26th Annual 5K Run/Walk race on May 11, 2024 at the Middlefork Reservoir. They are requesting that RPD provide assistance with traffic control during the event. The event starts at 8:00 a.m. with participants beginning to arrive at approximately 6:45 a.m. The event will conclude approximately 10:30 a.m. Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Mr. Lopemen. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Board of Works Minutes March 14, 2024 CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 40-2024 —Al PROPERTY MANAGEMENT LLC The City hereby retains Contractor to provide services in connection with Phase 2 of the emergency cleanup and sealing of a property located at 1548 South 6 ' Street for the Department of Code Enforcement. Not to exceed$930.00 Mr. Lopeman moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 41-2024 —ALL FOR YOU LAWN CARE The City retains Contractor to provide mowing services for City-owned right-of-way properties. These properties will be determined by the Department of Code Enforcement. There will be a flat rate for each property. Not to exceed$20,520.00 Mr. Lopeman moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 42-2024 —ALL FOR YOU LAWN CARE The City retains Contractor to provide mowing services for nuisance properties for the City. Properties will be determined by the Code Enforcement Department. The City will pay a flat rate of$155.00 per property. Mr. Lopeman moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 43-2024 —MIKESELL EXCAVATING The City retains Contractor to perform services in connection with the demolition of the garage at 344 Grace Drive that was previously deemed by the Unsafe Building Commission to be unsafe. Services shall include demolition, removal of debris, and restoration of the site. Not to exceed $2,200.00. Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Mr. Lopeman. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 45-2024 —B&B CONSTRUCTION OF RICHMOND, INC • Board of Works Minutes March 14, 2024 The City retains Contractor to perform services in connection with the demolition of the garage at 351 NW"E" Street. Services shall include demolition, removal of debris, and restoration of the site. Not to exceed $1,750.00 Mr. Lopeman moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 47-2024 —REDDOG ENTERPRISES INC. The City retains Contractor to provide services in connection with the emergency securing, cleanup of premises, and sealing and boarding of structures located at 101 NW "G" Street. Not to exceed $1,500.00 Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Mr. Lopeman. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 49-2024—MIKESELL EXCAVATING The City hereby retains Contractor to perform services in connection with the demolition of house and garage at 219 South 12th Street deemed by the Richmond Unsafe Building Commission to be unsafe. Services shall include demolition, removal of debris, and restoration of the site. Not to Exceed $9,200.00 Mr. Lopeman moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried.
