RESOLVED That the Mayor be and he is hereby authoriz- ed and directed, for the purpose of supplying a casual deficiency in revenue now existing, to borrow from such bank or banks of the City of Savannah as may be selected by him, the sum of One Thousand ($1000.00) Dollars for such time and upon such terms as the Mayor shall agree upon and to evidence said loan by executing in the name of on behalf of the Mayor and Councilmen of the Town of Tybee a note or notes not exceeding in the aggregate the principal sum of One Thousand (1000.00) Dollars and that said note or notes shall be executed under the official seal of the Mayor and Councilmen of the Town of Tybee attested by the Clerk of Council. The bids for the proposed new bulk -head on the Strand on 14th Street extending south to the bulk -head connecting with the Tybrisa Pavi- lion were read, Councilmen Logan and Walthour, with Mr. Sharpley were appointed a committee to handle and investigate the matter and report back on same. There being no further business Council adjourned subject to the call of the Mayor. , . / Mayor. Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, March 24,1030. A special meeting of Council was held today at 4:00 p.m. and was attended by the Mayor, who presided, and Councilmen Espy, Logan, Walthour and Farr. For the election to be held on April 7, 1930 for a Mayor and six (6) Councilmen, the following property owners were selected as managers for the election; John T. Collins, J. A. Logan and J. A. Samuels. The Mayor informed Councilmen that Mr. Smith, Vice President of the Citizens Bank and Trust Company had insisted that the Town pay the reduction and interest charges on the demand loans up to May 1st, this making it necessary to borrow additional money, the Mayor said it would be necessary now to negotiate a loan for $1750.00 and he requested authority to borrow $1750.00 and also that the resolution passed last month authorizing him to borrow $1,000.00 to be repealed, Mr. Walthour made a motion that the Mayor be empowered to borrow $1750.00 and also the resolution passed last month authorizing the Mayor to borrow ;1,000.00 be repealed, Mr. Espy seconded same and the motion passed. 128 RESOLUTION. The.regular meeting of Council was held today at 4:00 p.m. and was attended by the Mayor, who presided, and Councilmen Logan, Horovitz, Walthour, Espy, Farr and Town Attorney McIntyre. The Mayor informed Council that the county commissions had agreed to allow the Town ten men to assist in the at the bulk -head. The Mayor in discussing the Tybee road expressed the thought that the road opening would be delayed until around the first part of June. The Assessment Committee, by Chairman Carl Espy, sub- mitted to Council a report of the Assessments of a11'Real Estate and Improvements contianed in the Assessment Book, for the year commencing May 1st, 1930, as follows: Real Estate .1,436,729.52 Improvements 754,953.00 Acreage 4,304.25 Total `2,195,986.77 On motion of Councilman Horovitz, seconded by Councilman Logan the following Resolution was passed:
