APPROVING PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT —
SLAVIN & MORSE, LLC
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of professional legal services with regard to
ABC related matters; and
WHEREAS, the law firm of Slavin & Morse, LLC, possesses the requisite experience and
expertise to provide said specialized legal services; and
WHEREAS, the law firm of Slavin & Morse, LLC, has submitted a proposal to provide said
services at a maximum cost not to exceed $2,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available for
said purpose. Acct. # 9-01 -2o-155 -299
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret that the law firm of Slavin & Morse, LLC be appointed as special counsel to
address ABC license related matters at a maximum cost not to exceed $2,000.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this action is approved as an award of a
professional services contract pursuant to N J.S.A. 40A:11- 5(1)(a) in accordance with the
Borough's Fair and Open Process as authorized by law.
