A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
THE USE OF A DESIGNATED AREA OF BATEMAN HALL FOR A PRESS
CONFERENCE TO BE HELD ON FEBRUARY 25, 2015 AND TO HAVE THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD NAMED AS A PROGRAM PARTNER IN THE VILLAGE PROJECT
WHEREAS, a request was made by the Lynwood Unified School District and its
Community Outreach Team to conduct a press conference supporting the 2nd Annual
Black Teen Summit and announcing the start of the Village Project; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the event is to provide a program aimed at uniting the
community to provide support, life skills and mentorships for local youth; and
WHEREAS, the proposed event will take place on Wednesday, February 25,
2015 at 9:00 a.m.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council approves the use of a designated area of
Bateman Hall, requested City equipment and staff time support estimated at $120 and
agrees to have the City of Lynwood named as a program partner in The Village Project.
Section 2. The City Council further finds that the request achieves the
important public purposed of educating Lynwood residents and the local community.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 17th day of February, 2015.
