HomeMy Public PortalAboutORD-CC-1992-01ORDINANCE #92-01 AN ORDINANCE INCREASING CERTAIN COUNCILPERSONS' SALARIES TO ALLOW FOR PARTICIPATION IN UTAH RETIREMENT FUND WHEREAS, the new policy of the Utah State Retirement Board imposes hardships on certain councilpersons by not allowing them to continue to participate in said retirement program due to the low level of their remuneration; and WHEREAS, this hardship is heightened by the fact that said councilpersons not allowed to continue in the retirement program are not allowed to pull any funds out of said retirement program so long as they sit in their current position, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MOAB CITY COUNCIL AS FOLLOWS: That the salaries of certain councilpersons in the aforementioned situation be increased to allow for participation in the Utah Retirement Fund. The increase and cost of any benefits associated with the increase will be donated back to the City by affected councilpersons with the net effect of $-0- cost to the City.
