MINUTES

MEETING: Planning Commission Regular Meeting
PLACE: Fraser Town Hall Board Room
PRESENT
Commission: Commissioners: Chair Philip Naill, Steve Sumrall, Fran Cook, Veronica
Callinan, Katie Soles, Vesta Shapiro, and Jean Wolter
Staff: Town Planner, Catherine Trotter; Town Clerk, Lu Berger

Chairperson Naill called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m.
1. Roll Call:
2. Approval of Agenda: Minutes of June 22, 2011.
Commissioner Soles moved, and Commissioner Shapiro seconded the motion to
approve the Agenda. Motion carried: 7 -0.
3. Open Forum:
4. Public Hearing and Possible Action Regarding:
a. Sign Code
b. Zoning Code
Commissioner Cook moved, and Commissioner Callinan seconded the motion to open
the public hearing on the Sign Code and Zoning Code. Motion carried: 7 -0.
Sign Code:
TP Trotter briefed the Commission on various revisions to the draft sign code.
Commissioner Soles moved, and Commissioner Shapiro seconded the motion to
recommend approval to the Town Board of the Sign Code with revisions as stated during
the meeting. Motion carried: 7 -0.
Zoning Code:
Corresponding changes need to be made to the definitions section of the
Municipal Code Section 16 -140.
6. Staff Choice:

Municipal Code section 16 -150 to be amended moving the discretion to staff from
the Planning Commission within the authority delegated by the Planning
Commission.
Commissioner Wolter moved, and Commissioner Shapiro seconded the motion to close
the public hearing on the Sign Code and Zoning Code. Motion carried: 7 -0.
Commissioner Cook moved, and Commissioner Soles seconded the motion to
recommend approval to the Town Board of the Zoning Code with revisions as stated
during the meeting. Motion carried: 7 -0.
7. Planning Commission Choice:
Mayor Cook announced Phiip Naill has accepted the position of Trustee on the Town
Board. He will be replacing Joyce Burford who has resigned.
Philip Nail! announced his resignation from the Planning Commission.
Jean Wolter will step in as Planning Commission chair through year end.
Commissioner Sumrall moved, and Commissioner Shapiro seconded the motion to
adjourn. Motion carried: 7 -0. Meeting adjourned at 9:08 p.m.
