APPROVING PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT
THOMAS JARDIM, ESQ.
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of specialized legal services with regard
to various legal opinions with regard to the Borough of Carteret; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Jardim, Esq. presently serves as the attorney for the Zoning Board
of Adjustment and Planning Board and possesses the requisite experience and expertise
to provide said specialized legal services; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Attorney has recommended the appointment of Thomas
Jardim to defend the Carteret Planning Board in the above referenced matter at an hourly
rate of $205.00 not to exceed a maximum cost of $735.50; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available
for said purpose. Account # 9 - 01 - 21--180 - 299
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret that Thomas Jardim, Esq. is hereby appointed special counsel to defend the
Carteret Planning Board in the above described matter at an hourly rate of $205.00 for a
maximum cost not to exceed $735.50.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this appointment is made as a professional
services contract pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11 -5(a) in accordance with the Borough's Fair
and Open Process as authorized by law.

NOTICE OF CONTRACT AWARD
The Borough of Carteret has awarded a contract without
competitive bidding as a Professional Service pursuant to N.J.S.A.
40A:11 -5 (1) (a). This contract 'and the resolution authorizing it are
available for public inspection in the Office of the Municipal Clerk.
This action is approved as an award of a Professional Services
Contract pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11- 5(1)(a) in accordance with the
Borough's Fair and Open Process as authorized by law.
