AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 18 -16 AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF
CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY WITHIN
THE BOROUGH OF CARTERET
WHEREAS, on September 20, 2018, the Governing Body of the Borough of Carteret
( "Governing Body ") had previously adopted Ordinance 18 -16 providing for the
acquisition of certain parcels of real property within the Borough of Carteret identified as
Block 6303, Lots 7, 8, and 9; and
WHEREAS, the Governing Body has determined it necessary and proper to amend
Ordinance #18 -16 authorize the acquisition of an additional adjacent parcel of real
property know as Matthew Avenue and identified as Block 6303, Lot 1, in order to
effectuate the purposes of Ordinance 18 -16.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret, as follows:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance 18 -16 shall be amended to include Matthew Avenue
Block 6303, Lot 1 as an additional parcel of real property to be acquired
as provided for therein.
SECTION 2. That Block 6303, Lot 1, the Borough is authorized to acquire fee title to
the entire parcel or any lesser interest or estate, as determined by the
Borough Attorney.
SECTION 3. The Mayor and Borough Clerk and such other officers as may be
necessary are hereby authorized to undertake any actions and execute and
deliver any paper, form, or document necessary or appropriate to acquire
said property interests as provide for herein.
SECTION 4. All ordinances and/or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith are
repealed to the extent of any such inconsistency.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect upon publication as provided by law.

THE BOROUGH OF CARTERET
This 'ordinance amends Ordinance #18 -16 by authorizing the
acquisition of an additional adjacent parcel of real property
identified as Block 6303, Lot 1.
The foregoing ordinance was introduced at a meeting of the
Council of the Borough of Carteret held February 21, 2019 when it
was adopted on first reading. The said ordinance will be further
considered on second reading for final adoption at a meeting of
said Council of the Borough of Carteret on April 4, 2019 at
approximately 6:00 P.M., Borough Hall /Council Chambers, 61 Cooke
Avenue, Carteret, New Jersey at which time and place all persons
interested will be given an opportunity to be heard.
