Dear Council members -
I am writing to thank you for listening to the concerns of the Woodlands neighbors last Thursday
regarding the possible development of Pine Creek Ranch and the profound impact that a
development of this size will have on the natural environment, adjacent neighborhoods, and the
community at large. It was clear from your discussion that you heard and appreciated our concerns.
We are grateful that you passed the resolution designating these parcels as an "Area of Critical
Concern" and requested that many of our concerns be addressed in the environmental assessment.
One thought I had after hearing the discussion was that you might want to consider asking City staff
to report back to you after the scoping meeting so that you, and the public, can fully understand the
details of what the environmental assessment will address. This would also give you an opportunity
to understand the qualifications of the professionals who have been selected to conduct the
assessment which, as Bill Nichols pointed out in your discussion, can vary significantly.
Thank you, again, for hearing our concerns and for all the work you do serving our community.
