RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE AWARD OF A NON -FAIR
AND OPEN CONTRACT FOR EXERCISE EQUIPMENT FOR
THE FITNESS & WELLNESS CENTER
WHEREAS, the BOROUGH OF CARTERET FITNESS & WELLNESS CENTER has
a need to purchase exercise equipment as a non -fair and open contract pursuant to the
provisions of N.J.S.A. 19:44A -20.4 or 20.5; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor through the CFO has determined and certified in writing that the
value of the acquisition will exceed $17,500; and ACCt•# C- Y4 -18- 101 -201
WHEREAS, Precor has submitted a proposal indicating they will provide the exercise
equipment for $56,160.00, the state co -op submitted a proposal for $85,414.00; and
WHEREAS, the anticipated purchase of the said equipment is more than 10% lower than
the state co- operative approved pricing, and is a savings of $29,254.00, allowing the
Borough of Carteret to award such contract; and
WHEREAS, Precor has completed and submitted a Business Entity Disclosure
Certification which certifies that Precor has not made any reportable contributions to a
political or candidate committee in the Borough of Carteret in the previous one year, and
that the contract will prohibit the Precor from making any reportable contributions
through the term of the contract, and
WHEREAS, the CFO has certified the availability of funds; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret authorizes the CFO to enter into a contract with Precor as described herein;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Business Disclosure Entity Certification and
the Determination of Value be placed on file with this resolution.
