A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
SUPPORT OF TWO EVENTS COMMEMORATING CESAR CHAVEZ' BIRTHDAY ON
MARCH 28, 2015 AND MARCH 31, 2015; AT LYNWOOD CITY PARK AND
APPROVING EXPENDING FUNDS FROM THE REFUSE FUND IN AN AMOUNT NOT
TO EXCEED $2,000
WHEREAS, the City wishes to support two events; the first is a community clean-
up project of Chavez Lane to be held on March 28, 2015; and the second is a
commemorative ceremony to be held on March 31, 2015; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of both events is to honor and celebrate Cesar Chavez
Day; and
WHEREAS, the proposed events will take place at Lynwood City Park, both
presented from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council approves both events as City sponsored special
events and approves expending funds to support the events from the refuse fund in an
amount not to exceed $2,000.
Section 2. The City Council further finds that the request achieves the
important public purpose of educating Lynwood residents and the local community.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 3rd day of March, 2015.
