Every owner or keeper of a place making and selling iced sweets under
trade names such as "FROZEN CUSTARDS" or similar trade names $25.00
Each and every owner or keeper of a miniture golf course 10.00
Section 5. In the event any business or calling not specifically men-
tioned 110
in the above list set forth shall be established in the Town of
Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Ga.* the Mayor and Councilmen reserve the
right to establish a license fee for same by resolution, which fee is to
be or equal degnity as the licenses mentioned in the above section, pro-
vided however that such licenses shall not be less than TWO DOLLARS-FIFTY
MOTS and not more than the sum of ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS.
Section 6. This Ordinance shall be subject to alterations or repeal in
whole or in part at any time during the year beginning May 1, 1931, should
it be deemed advisable and no such amendment or repeal shall be construed
to impair the right of Council to assess or levy tax for the whole year
whenever made.
Section 7. All ordinances or parts of ordinances conflicting with the
provision of this ordinance are hereby repealed, providing nenvertheless
that so much and such parts of ordinances passes as provided for the ex-
ecution for any tax assessment, or part of tax assessment, required by such
ordinance and now remaining unpaid, shall continue and remain in force so
as to authorize the Clerk of Council and EX-officio Treasurer to issue ex-
ecutions and the Chief of Police and. Ex-officio Tax Collector to collect
same, until taxes or assessments- shall be fully paid.
There being no further business Bouncil adjourned subject to the call
of the Mayor.

The regular meeting of Council was held today at 4: p. m. and was attended
by Mayor Gamble who presided and Councilmen Logan, Horovitz, Cann and Farr,
and Mr. I. Goldberg.
The Mayor asked Mr. Goldberg to state to Council his reason for appearing
before it--Mr. Goldberg, stated that he had made a request for a permit
to build on his property and had been refused--Mr. Logan said he under-
stood that there was to be just a shack without any sanitary conveniences
or anything else--Mr. Goldberg said that he had originally intended
building a non too comidious place but that when he found out that it 110
would be necessary to comply with-the building Ordinance, he changed his
plans and that now butst his intentions was to build an attractive cottage--

Mr. Logan said that the people in the neighborhood had objected to his
putting a structure up without the necessary sanitary arrangementsv -Mr.
Goldberg said that he intended for his family to occupy the building and
_# that k certainly he would comply with all of the regulations regarded
by the Town - -Mr. Goldberg was then excused and it was the opinion of
Council that he be permitted to erect the building.
The salary of the Recorder was figured, for the ensuing year at 4600.00
per annum on motion of Mr. Farr seconded by Mr. Cann and passed.
Salary of Chief of Police and Ex- officio Tax Collector was figured for
the ensuing year at $1500.00 per annum on motion of Mr. Logan seconded
by Mr. Cann and the motion passed unaniously.
Salary of Clerk of Council and Ex- officio Treasurer was figured at
$2400.00 per annum for the ensuing year, on motion of Mr.Cann seconded
by 1tr. Farr and the motion passed.
The fee to be paid to Town Attorney for the ensuing year was figured at
3250.00 per annum, on motion of Mr. Horovitz seconded by Mr. Cann and
passed.
Mr. Logan made a motion that Horovittle elected Recorder of the Mayors
court for the ensuing year, Mr. Cann seconded same and the motion passed.
Mr. Logan made a motion that Dennis Lysaught be elected Chief of Police
and Ex- officio Tax Collector for the ensuing year, this was seconded by
0 Mr. Cann and the, motion passed.
Mr. Cann made a motion that Henry M. Buckley be appointed Clerk of Council
and Ex- officio Treasure for the ensuing year, this was seconded by Mr.Farr
and the motion passed.
Mr. Horovitz made a motion that Frank P. McIntyre be elected Town Attorney
for the ensuing year this was seconded_by Mr. Cann and the motion passed.
Mr. Horovitz made a motion that Cord McCraken be elected Slectrica& Inspector
for the ensuing year, this was seconded by Iar. Cann and the motion passed..
Mr. Horovitz made a motion that Dr. H, Y. Righton be appointed Chairman
of the Sanitary Board, this was seconded by Mr. Cann and the motion passed
Mr. Horovitz made a motion that Mr. W. M. Farr be elected Chairman of
Council for the ensuing year, this was seconded by Mr. Cann, motion passed.
Mr. Horovitz made a motion that Mr. Carl Espy be elected vice - Chairman
of Council for the ensuing year, this was seconded by Mr., Cann and the
motion passed.
Mr. Horovitz made a motion that Dr. Q. H. Bassett be elected Health officer
for the ensuing; year, this was seconded by Mr. Cann and motion passed.

Mr. Logan made a motion that Robert Robider be elected Plumbing Inspector
£hat: salary of $75.00 per month not to exceed one month, this was seconded
Mr. Horovitz and the motion passed.
The matter of not assessing improvements when they are under construction
during the year after the fiscal year has started was brought up and on

motion of Mr. Farr that any improvements under construction at the time
that the Towns fiscalrommences shall not be assessed for the current
year, Mr. Logan seconded this and the.motion nassed.
The third. Wednesday in April was designated as the official oppening
day each year for Savannah Beach.
There being no further business adjourned subject to the call of the
Mayor.

The regular meeting of Council was held to-day and was attended by
Mayor Gamble,who presided, and Councilmen Walthour,Cann and. Espy
Town Attorney McIntyre and Mr. R.W.Reynolds.
Mr. Reynolds stated that his reason appearing before Council was
to suggest that a publicity expert be employed to promote some
attractions on the island, he said that he had just such a person
in mind whom he had been associated with in Florida and he believed
that he could get hi* to come to Tybee and look the sitaation over,
provided that his expenses were taken of, which he (Mr.Reynolds)
did not think would go over One Hundred Dollars, he said that he
had approached the Tybee Amusement Co and that they had agreed to
pay of the expenses, that he would agree to pay 1/3, and that
he wanted the Town to pay the other 1/3 --- Mr. Walthour made a m
motion that the'Town nay 1/3 of the expenses of bringing said
publicity expert to Tybee,provided that same doed not go over
One Hundred Dollars, thisnwas seconded by Mr Espy and the motion
passed.
The Mayor informed Council that he had had 20000 new folders printed
half of the cost to be paid the Tybee Amusemiefith Co., he said that
the railrods are cooperating splendidly in advertising the island.
The Mayor informed Council that L.P.Maggioni & Co., have requested
that a note be given tnem for the new purchases of oyster shell,
Mr. Espy made a motion that the Mayor be authorized and directed
to give anote to L.P.Maggioni & Co., for the oyster shells purchased
this year, based on their invoices,this was seconded by Mr. Walthour
and the motion passed.
