Mr. Espy informed Coucnil that he thought it was time for him to
relinquish his duties as Councilman with the fown and that he
thought someone else should step in and take hold of the reins,
Mayor Gamble said he had no intention of accepting Mr. Espys
resignation and Council expeessed the same thought, Mayor Gamble
informed Council that the property owners on the north end of the
Island were complaining that they were not represented on the board.
The Mayor called for a nomination to fill the unexpired term of
Yr. W. Y. Farr, Mr. Logan nominated Mr. W. P. Brooks, Mr. Cann
nominated Dr. H. V. Harriss, there was quite a discussion relative
to the two men and it was deeided to elect a Councilmen at a_later
date.
There beirw no further business Council adjourned subject to the
call of :the MaYor.

A special meeting of Council was held today at 4: p. m. and was
attended by Mayor Gamble who presided and Councilmen Walthour,
Espy., Horovitz and. Logan and also Councilman elect W. P. Brooks.
The Mayor called for nomination for Councilman to fili the unexpired
term of the late Mr. Farr--Mr. Horovitz nominated W. P. Brooks which
was seconded by Mr. Logan and there being no other nomination Mr.
Brooks was unamiously elected.'
question again came up as to wether the Town should etioccept twenty
(20) feet streets or not and Mr. Walthour.made a motion that the
Town not tcept any streets having a width of approximately twenty
(20) feet, Yr. Logan seconded same and the motion passed.
The following Ordinance introduced by Mr.'Logan seconded by Mr.
Horovitz and passed relating to the regulating of trucks and busses
on the parking spaces between Fourteen and Fifteenth Streets and
Sixteen and Seventeen Streets.
ORDINANCE
BE. IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Alderman of the Town of
Savannah Beach, in Council assembled, that for the protection from
damage of the parking spaces on the strand, on and after this date
trucks and buses shall not be permitted to drive or to park on the
parking, spaces between 14th and 15th streets and between 16th and
17th streets.

ea police court of the Town of Savannah Beach of violation of this
Ordinance a fine may be imposed not exceeding $100.00, or im-
prisonment not exceeding five days, either of both in the discretion

The bill of L. P. Maggioni & Cmpany for oyster shells purchased
amounts to 3 , was presented and on motion of Mr. Horvitz
that it be naid and also that the Mayor be authorized to negotiate
a note with them, this was seconded by Mr. Walthour and the motion
passed.

Whereas there is now due-the sum of 33827.46 to L. P.
Maggioni and Co., a firm of Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia, by
the Favor and. Councilmen of Savannah Peach, Tybee Island, Ga., for
oyster shells furnished by said. L. P. Maggioni and. Co., for road
work on and in the roads and streets of said municipality, and
WHEREAS the said L. P. Maggioni and. Co., has called
upon said municipality for the payment of this account and said.
municipal corporation being temporarily out of funds, the said.
L. P. Maggioni and Co., has requested that the note of said
municipal corporation be issaed them in the said primcipal sum,
bearing interest from date ussued at the rate of sever percent
(710 per annum, and being due ninety days after date, with the
understandin g and upon the condition that upon the Materity of
said note, the said municiaal corporation by eayince the accumlated
interest thereon has a right to renew the same for a farther period
of ninety (90) days and at the same rate of interest.
NOW, THEN, TaEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and.
Councilmen of said Savannah Beach, do issue a certain promissory
note to the order of L. P. Maggioni and. Co., of Savannah, Georgia,
in the sum of 33827.46 and due ninety days after date and at the
rate. of 7% interest per annum, in fall settlement of the account
due by said municipal corporation to the said. L. P. Maggioni and
Co., for oyster shells furnished for road and street building, as
appears upon statements of account furnished said corporation now
on file with the Clerk of Council hereof, and that upon the maturity
of said note, the said corporation to renew the same for a further
period of ninety days at the rate of 7% per annum, by paying the
interest which will then have accumulated upon said note.
BE IT FUF:TIEER ORDAINED that tee Mayor he and he is
nereby authorized in the arne of said corporation to sign note
and to cause the seal of said cerporation to be thereurto affixed,
attested by the Treasurer thereof.
BE IT RORThER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this
resolution be attached to and made of said note.
The Treasurer advised. Council that the amount ef cash on hard was
$6077.64.
.The Mayor informed. Council that Le had hired a young lady reporter
and agreed to pay her 4100.00 for the season to give publicity to

the Georgia News Papers of happenings at Savannah Beach from July
first to October first.
The American Oil Company has very kindly agreed to let the Town
have all of its refuse oil drained from crank cases at its various
filling stations and has also agreed to distilate to the Town for
five cents per gallon.
Mr. W. P. Brooks took the oath of office as Councilman as follows:

A special meeting of Councilwas held today at 4: p. m. and was
attended by Mayor Gamble who presided and. Councilmen Brooks,
Horovitz and Logan and Town Attorney McIntyre.
The Mayor informed Council that an amendent to the general act
now in the legislature making bath house operators put out ropes
on the beach for the -protection of bathers had been sent to the
representivs from Chatham County.
Mr. W. C. Goodman- presented a fifa stating where he had been sued
by Mr. E. A. Galletta for one septic tank to the amount of J20.00,
the Treasurer was instructed to.reimbarse Mr. Goodman for the septic
tank to the amount of 420.00.
The following Ordinance known as the building code was introduced
by Mr. Horovitz, seconded by Mr. Brooks placed, on its passage and
adopted.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE _MAYOR AND ALDERMEN of the Town of Savannah
Beach, in Council assembled, that from and after this date all
buildings permits issued for construction or alterations or,repairs
within the limits of the gaid Town shall be subject to the following
condictions and restrictions which shall constitute the building
code of the said. Town of Savannah Beach:
