AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING CONTRACT
WITH CME ASSOCIATES, FEE ESTIMATE FOR THE CARTERET
PERFORMING ARTS DISTRICT STREETSCAPE PHASE II AND CPAC
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of specialized engineering services in
connection with Final Design & Preparation of Contract Documents and Bid Phase
Services for the Performing Arts District Streetscape Phase II and CPAC; and
WHEREAS, CME Associates, 1460 Route 9 South, Howell, New Jersey 07731,
possesses the requisite experience and expertise to provide said services; and
WHEREAS, CME Associates has submitted a proposal to provide said services, items
"A" & `B" on the proposal dated May 31, 2019 at a total cost not to exceed $25,000.00;
and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and the Council have reviewed said proposal; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available
for said purpose. Acct. # 9-01 -20- 165 -254
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and the Council of the
Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. The proposal from CME Associates for engineering services related to the
Final Design & Preparation of Contract Documents and Bid Phase
Services for the Performing Arts District Streetscape Phase II and CPAC
(items "A" & `B ") at a cost not to exceed $25,000.00 is hereby approved.
2. This action is approved as an award of a professional services contract
pursuant to N.J.S.A 40A:11- 5(1)(a) in accordance with the Borough's Fair
and Open Process as authorized by law.
3. A copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Borough's Purchasing
Department, the Borough Director of Engineering and CME Associates.
