A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING FUNDING OF THE 2015 4T" OF JULY CELEBRATION IN THE
AMOUNT -NOT TO EXCEED FORTY SIX THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND
TWELVE DOLLARS FROM THE REFUSE /SPECIAL EVENTS FUND AND
AUTHORIZING THE OPENING OF A PURCHASE ORDER IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $12,500 FOR FIREWORKS DISPLAY SERVICES BY EXPOSHOWS, INC.
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood desires to present a community fireworks
celebration in honor of the nation's July 4th holiday; and
WHEREAS, the annual City of Lynwood Fireworks Show has become a time -
honored community tradition within the City; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to acquire services in support of this community
event; and
WHEREAS, per Chapter 6 -3.1.0 of the Lynwood Municipal Code, the City
Manager is authorized to sign contracts to procure professional /special services which
do not exceed $15,000 in any one year period.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Cit� Council hereby approves the expenditure not to exceed
$46,512 to provide for the 4t of July 2015 Celebration.
Section 2. The City Council authorizes staff to open a purchase order in the
amount not to exceed $12,500 for contracting of fireworks display services from
Exposhows, Inc. for the 2015 July 4th fireworks display.
Section 3. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to carry out
necessary transactions as so ordered by this Resolution.
Section 4. That the funding appropriation in the amount of $49,944 minus the
anticipated revenue of $3,432.00, for a total appropriation not to exceed $46,512, be
allocated from the Refuse /Special Events Fund Account #1052.60.701.64020 and that
event revenues be deposited into Account #1011.60.33181.
Section 5. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
