BACKGROUND: On July 26, 2022, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 22-58 awarding a construction contract to ASG Builders (Contractor) in the amount of $437,408 for the 2022 Pavement Maintenance Project and establishing a Project contingency of $40,000. A Notice to Proceed (NTP) was issued to the Contractor October 24, 2022, with construction work starting in End of October. The Contractor has successfully completed all work consisting of slurry seal resurfacing, crack sealing, dig -outs and replacement of all striping, markings, utility manholes and survey monuments of approximately 209,300 square feet of pavement to current city standards. The work was performed on the following streets: 1) Palm Avenue between Richmond Drive and Taylor Blvd 2) Millbrae Avenue between Magnolia Avenue and S. El Camino Real 3) Millwood Drive between Magnolia Avenue and Broadway 4) Queen Anne Court 5) Dumont Court 6) Santa Susana Avenue between Juanita Avenue and Park Blvd. 7) La Prenda between Alto Loma Street and Hillcrest Blvd. 8) Santa Florita Avenue between Juanita Avenue and Park Blvd. 9) El Bonito Way 10) Millbrae Circle Page 1 of 2 17311768.1 Resolution Accepting the 2022 Pavement Maintenance Project as Complete Page 2 of 2 ---------- The project aims to maintain streets in good condition and extend the useful pavement life where possible an additional 5-7 years. The Project had one (1) change orders associated with modifications to Project quantities: Change Order No. 01: Final Quantities– Quantity adjustment completed at the end of Project for reductions or increases to quantities as measured made during construction. Staff performed the Project’s final inspection and determined that all work has been satisfactorily completed in accordance with the Project plans and specifications. Staff recommends that the City Council accept the Project as complete and authorize the filing of a Notice of Completion with the San Mateo County Clerk. FISCAL IMPACT: One (1) change order was issued for this Project totaling $27,585.55 in credits associated with modifications to Project quantities. Original Project Cost $437,408.00 Change Order No. 01 – Final & Balancing $ -27,585.55 Final Project Cost $409,822.65 The final construction cost of $409,822.65 is below the total authorized Project budget of $477,408. WHEREAS, staff performed the Project’s final inspection and determined that all work has been satisfactorily completed in accordance with the Project plans and specifications. Staff recommends that the City Council accept the Project as complete and authorize the filing of a Notice of Completion with the San Mateo County Clerk; and NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MILLBRAE accepts the 2022 Pavement Maintenance Project as complete and authorizes the filing of a Notice of Completion with the San Mateo County Clerk.
