61 A specil meeting of Council was held to-day at 4:00 p.m. and
was attended by Mayor Samble,Who presided, and Councilmen Espy,
TIrooks and Walthour,Town Ittarney McIntyre and Mr. T.J.O'Brien.
IV Some of the property o-v%ners in the vicinity of Butler Avenue
between EleVenth Lnd Twelvth streets registered a 2rotest against
L.C.Hucks building a store on lot number 2,ward 3, but Council
.after refering the matter to the Town Attorney, decided that as
Mr Hucks has complied with all of the building requirements it
could not prohibit him from erecting the building.

The Mayor informed Council that he hE_d requested Mr.O'Brien to
appear land_make suggestions as to remeding the defects now ex-
isting in our accounting system,Mr.O'Brien made several suggest-
ions that would necessitate inaugurating a new system, so on
motion of Mr. Walthour that Mr. O'Brien install a the necessary
system, 'beconded by Mr. Brooks,the motion passed. Mr. O'Brien
was requested to start the work as soon as possible. Mr. O'Brien
was then excused.
The Mayor called attention to the very large amount of out-
standing bills against the Town, he said that if sufficient
monies could be collected on loc,st due taxes tb take care of
our casual deficiency loans.
In the matter of providing electrical inspection,part of the
County ordinance wa read, whci requires that a person or per-
sons doing electrical work on Savannah Beach must have a cee-
tificate from the Board of Electrical Examiners of Chatham Co,.
and on motion of Mr. Brooks,seconded by Mr.Talthour, the fol-
lowing ordinance was passed;

The Mayor informed Council that the County Commissioners had
stopped the convicts frornworking on the island on anything bgt
work that pertained to the public health and roads, he said
that Yr. A.W.Solornon had informed him that he had complaints
that the convicts were doing other than the work expected og
them, and for this reason the work was stopped. The Mayor
informed Council that he had written a letter to the Public
Service Commission re.questing the status of the Tybee Waterworks
Company and was informed by them that they had no jurisdiction
in the matter that the Town has authority.
There being no further business Council adjourned subject to the
call of the Mayor.
