A specicl meetin of Co:ancil,was held to -day at 4 :00p.m. and was
attended 'b-y Mayor sarrble,who presided, and Councilmen '7althour,
Logan,Horovitz and Brooks also .2.3olornon, jr,A.P.Solomon,Sr.,
J.To .Ro ers,C. '.Powers, A.P.Adams, 3.y .1Tarris and J .u.Butler.
Tr. Solomon,jr submitted three ;fans for proposed water and fire
protection systems on Tybee, as follows;

T;Yr A_i mws asked if the proposed new system meant using the old
lines now in connection with new ones and would the large main
be used just fire protection- the Mayor asked if the property
owners would be out sto additional expense if the new system was
installed - Lr Brooks asked if the rate would be increased- Mr. dol-
man said that the basic rate would not be raised but that new rates
would have to made to take care of additional house co- nections-
Tyr Solomons said that:: the systems as proposed would comply 7ith
S. ^.Underwriters rules and requirements - Yr. Horovitz ased if
it would give adequate water pressure at all times - Mayor said that
tank should be in centre if Island to assure geeting proper
pressure - 11r Solomon Ha id that pressure would-be supplied by the
pumps- direct to mains - su: ested that a committee composed of
two a .o_-inted by the Town and from the Tybee 'ya Lerworks be tamed to
study situation, with only 183 buiings to supply, the matter should
be gore into very carefully - the Mayor or informed L r Solomon sthat
a co: ritt=e was now functioning- iu'r Solomon said that the TWW had
a charter for fifty years forty of which the Company had been

thour said that the Town had a proposition to furnish fire pro-
tection for 21000.00- Lr Brooks suggested that the Ted's! put its
proposition for water and fire protection in writing-
