AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
PARTNERSHIP FOR A DRUG FREE WAYNE COUNTY
WHEREAS, The Partnership for a Drug Free Wayne County has grant funding available; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond Police Department desires to submit a grant application to
obtain funds that will be used for activities related to the Richmond/Wayne
County Canine Units and for the purchase of cameras and a projector to be used
in conjunction with investigations and personnel training; and
WHEREAS, no local match is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond Police Department is hereby authorized to submit a grant
application to the Partnership for a Drug Free Wayne County.
2. The City of Richmond Police Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in
an amount up to Sixteen Thousand Dollars and No Cents ($16,000.00).
3. Seven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($7,500.00) of said funds, if awarded to
the City of Richmond Police Department, shall be appropriated for activities related to the
Richmond/Wayne County Canine Units.
4. Eight Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($8,500.00) of said funds, if awarded to the
City of Richmond Police Department, shall be appropriated for the purchased of cameras and a
projector to be used in conjunction with investigations and personnel training.
Passed and adopted this 6th_ day of December 2004, by the Common Council of the City
of Richmond, Indiana.
