As part of the development of the new subdivision north of Place Au Soleil called Bluewater Cove, the developer approached the Town with a proposal to update and upgrade the building, sign and landscaping of the guardhouse at their expense. Due to the property in question being owned by the Town, the developer and staff decided to present the proposed changes to the ARPB Board and the Town Commission for approval. ARPB Meeting, November 17, 2022 The Homeowners Association of Place Au Soleil sent the residents an email describing the proposed changes to the guardhouse, sign and landscaping. Several residents of Place Au Soleil attended the ARPB Meeting. The predominant changes include removing the stacked stone on the facade of the building, changing the style of architecture from Spanish Mediterranean to Colonial West Indies with a cedar shake tile roof and raising the roof height an additional foot. The sign will be replaced by a coral stone sign with the Town seal. During the public comment portion of the meeting, the HOA President, Chester Snavely, spoke in favor of the proposed design. Other residents raised concerns over the typeface selected for the sign, stating the font type appeared to be a trendy font that stylistically would ARPB #22-25, Page 1 fade from favor due to its trendy appeal.
