The regular meetin o Council watt held today at 1;b.m. and was attended
by Mayor Gamble. who :presided and Councilmen Cann, Logan ,Horovitz, 3rooks
and Tbwn Attorney McIntyre.
Yr. Lo7an called attention that Mr. A. P. Solomon Jr., !....ad objected to
Mr. Roiler our 21amin._:. ins)ector, dain2 outside work, Mr. Solomon con-
teLds that if L. -1obiler was the official reDresentive of the Town he
should not compete witr1 other plumsing contracts, the matter was discussed
quite freely s.nd it was the opinion of Council that Mr. Rooider would
not desire to obtain the position of ,luf_.(;ihs_.: iLs:e.tor, preferrin7 doing
contract work, that, he be permitLed to resi:?n, the the event he would,
the Mayor was embowed on motion of Mr. horovitz, seconded by Yr. Cann
to Lpoint a new plumbing ins)ector on the same terms and conditions as
Mr. .Robider was employed, the motion was passel.
There being no further business Council adjoUrned subject to the call
of the Mayor.

• The Mayor suggested that as to tie pararaph on rules and regulations
• that was embodied in the new aggreement be adopted, this areement
was dated. February 8th,
The matter of• rating to be charged as embodied in exihibit "B" of the
franchaise was adopted, subjected to rules ((.3) being adopted between
Yr. Cann and. Mr. Solomon Jr.
Tr. Rogers wanted a new section to vover the old franchaise that is that
410 pa,t pertainin2 to whatever riL;nts the T. W. d. now had and would not
be lost in the new franchaise--Mr. ,Ispy said that he dilent see the
necessity for it--Mayor Gamble asked what Council th.)u._-ht of that section
about the right of the old T. j.'1.--Mr. ..;ers said he couldent se,q,,amy
objection of the Town to this clause, noLhihg was done relative to this.
There being no further business Council adjourned subject to the call of

A meeting was held today at 4; p.m., consisting of Mayor Gamble, Mr.
M. W. Liooitt, Ti E. G. Butler, representing the Mayor and Council-
men and Mr". P. S. Jillkins, Yr. J. K. Hyington and Mr. S. Y. Harris,
comp-osin the committee representing the People's Committee.
Vr. 'Harris said that his idea was th::t an orderly plan shodld be
arrived at to go int...) details—Mayor Gamble. told him on the back page
of the documents he .had the regular source of income. for the past sixr
years was shown, he said the only incpme of the Town was• from Real •
Est -be taxes, licenses, and police court -fines .and forfeits. He called ..
attention to the fact thah the income from licenses and police coart
were considerbly lower than the Inc . 'e of former years, he said that
part of the method of accounting was defective and that a new system
had been . recently installed, as regarding the item of salaries shown in
the •auditors reoort of the toll abcount that it , that it represented
salaries .paid to he toll collector to the foreman and labor construct-
ing-the boardwalks and jetties and to the yon; lady who furnishes
music for the boardwalks—Mr.•3yinp.:ton said every item should be abcouni 0.
ed for—Col.Butler, refering to Yr. Byington, said you cant expect
people to work for notninE.7 and ',vhen work is required it is necessary to
have it done and when it is one , you have to pay for it-Mayor Gamble
said another item that was included in the salaries waa the salary of
•the police department during the summer months which was chid to the
toll. account--Mr. Harris, the best way to :':;et at things is to take each
department, in other words how 'as each deoartment paid and how was
salary paid, etc.--The audit by _Laton Saussy & Co.,. does not agree with
the Mlayors fiures, as a very lost motion in the police department.-- •

supervisor of lie-guards, tha, Mayor said his plans waa to cut Mr. •
Buckleys salary to ;1600.00. as clerk Of council and 71:50;00 as supervisor
of life-guards-Col.Butler said that he .did not think that Mr. Buckley
salary should be cat as he was not over paid and further as Mr. EuckleyA k.
had to spend the summer at Tybee in connection with the Town work, he
felt that he should be compensated for it—Yr. Eyington asked if the
Town hired any life-guards?--Mayor Gamble said only on Sundays and holidays
when tie beach .was crowded, he said the Town Attorney LT,:et a feeof .250.00
per year—Mr. Harris suggested consolidating the Town Attorney and recorder .
