AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CARSON CHANGING
THE ZONE OF CERTAIN PROPERTYAND AMENDING THE
CARSON MUNICIPAL CODE - ZONE CHANGE CASE
NO. 17-71
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . That certain property in the City of Carson described as follows:
"That portion of the Rancho San Pedro, in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, being
a portion of the 504. 19 acre tract allotted to J. G. Downey by Decree of Partition of a portion
of said Rancho in Case No. 939 of the Superior Court of said county, shown as Parcel 2 of Record
of Survey filed in Book 82, Pages 31 and 32 of Records of Survey in the office of the County
Recorder of said county.
EXCEPTING therefrom that portion included within the parcel of land described as Parcel 2
in tie Deed to the State of California recorded December 29, 1967, in Book D 3872, Page 421
of Official Records of said county and described therein as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the northerly line of said Parcel 2 with a line parallel with the
easterly line of said Parcel 2 and distant westerly 15.00 feet, measured at right angles from
said easterly line, thence south 80032'21" west 378. 19 feet, thence south 77045'02" west j
124.13 feet, thence north 74055'57" west 11 .01 feet, thence south 87 041'23" west 31 .26 feet,
thence south 65016'12" west 26.93 feet, thence south 0014'59" east 18.35 feet, thence south
40039'52" west 145.51 feet, thence south 6017'41" east 136.24 feet, thence south 77014'55"
east 49.54 feet to the southerly line of said Parcel 2, thence along said southerly line south
87058'54" west 1391 .61 feet to the general westerly line of said Parcel 2, thence northerly
along said general westerly line to said northerly line of Parcel 2, thence easterly along said
northerly line to the point of beginning.
ALSO EXCEPTING therefrom that portion included within the parcel of land described as Parcel
2 in the Deed tote State of California recorded December 29, 1967, in Book D 3872, Page 421
of Official Records of said county and described therein as follows:
Beginning at the northeasterly comer of said Parcel 2, thence along the easterly line of said
Parcel 2, south 8013'03" west 353.93 feet and south 0001'55" east 4.27 feet to the southeasterly
corner of said Parcel 2, thence along the southerly line of said Parcel 2, south 87058'54" west
352.85 feet, thence north 82043'03" east 338.93 feet, thence north 17044'35" east 30.32 feet
to a line parallel with the easterly line of said Parcel 2 and distant westerly 15.00 feet, measured
at right angles, from said easterly line, thence along said parallel line, north 8013'03" east
297.25 feet to the northerly line of said Parcel 2, thence along said northerly line, north 860
25'03" east 15.32 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. "
is hereby classified and zoned C-1 (Restricted Business) as shown on the City of Carson Zoning
Map No. 4287 as hereby amended.
Section 2. That certain property in the City of Carson described as follows:
"That portion of Parcel 4, in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, as shown on Record
of Survey filed in Book 82, Pages 31 and 32 of Record of Surveys, in the office of the County
Recorder of said County, described as follows:
Beginning at the northerly terminus of that certain course described as south 12001'49" east
57.64 feet in the boundary line of Parcel 4 of the Deed to the State of California recorded
December 291 1967, in Book D 3872 Page 421 of Official Records, thence north 08013'03"
east 75.44 feet, thence north 89049'05" east 130.0 feet to a point of second beginning.
Thence from the point of second beginning, north 01013'05" east 65.0 feet, thence north
89049'05" east 680 feet, thence south 77033'08" west 405.82 feet, thence north 79040'33"
west 99.80 feet, thence south 89049'05" west 208.04 feet to the point of second beginning."

is hereby classified and zoned C-1 (Restricted Business) as shown on the City of Carson Zoning
Map No. 4295 as hereby amended.
Section 3. That certain property in the City of Carson described as follows:
"That portion of Parcel 4, in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, as shown on Record
of Survey filed in Book 82, Pages 31 and 32 of Record of Surveys, in the office of the County
Recorder of said County, described as follows:
Beginning at the sou t`herly terminus of that certain course described as south 12001'49" east
57.64 feet in the boundary line of Parcel 4 of the Deed to the State of California recorded
December 29, 1967, in Book D 3872, Page 421 of Official Records, thence along said boundary
south 0000'30" east 49.00 feet and south 15011 '39" west 95.34 feet, thence leaving said
boundary, south 0'00' 30" east 108.55 feet, thence north 89059'30" east 200.00 feet, thence
north 0009'19" west 250.00 feet, thence south 89050'41" west 174.49 feet to the point of
beginning."
is hereby classified and zoned C-1 (Restricted Business) as shown on the City of Carson Zoning
Map No. 4295 as hereby amended.
Section 4. The Zoning Map of the City of Carson, as adopted by Section
9101 of the Carson Municipal Code is hereby amended by changing the classification of the
area hereinabove described to the zoning classification set forth in this ordinance, and said
map shall have noted therein, "Amended to 31st day of August, 1971 "
Section 5. Section 9101 of the Carson Municipal Code is hereby amended
to read:
"9101 . Adoption of Zoning Map. That certain Zoning Map on file in the
office of the Director of Community Development in the City Hall of the City of Carson,
existing and in effect on May 7, 1968, and as amended to August 31, 1971 ,
is hereby adopted as the Zoning Map of the City of Carson."
Section 6. The City Clerk is directed to enter the effective date of this
Ordinance in the appropriate spaces in Sections 4 and 5 above.

I, Marilyn R. Cortina, City Clerk of the City of Carson, California, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of said City is five; that the fore-
going ordinance, being Ordinance No. 71-192, passed first reading on July 19, 1971 ,
was duly and regularly adopted by the City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said
Council, duly and regularly held on the 2nd day of August, 1971 , and that the same was so
passed and adopted by the following roll call vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Junk, Smith and Leahy.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Marbut.
ABSTAIN: COUNCILMEN: Bridgers.
