HomeMy Public PortalAbout72-208 ORDINANCE NO. 72-208 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CARSON ESTABLISHING THE OFFICE OF ENFORCEMENT OFFICER AND PROVIDING FOR THE DUTIES, APPOINTMENT AND REMOVAL OF SUCH OFFICER, AND AMENDING THE CARSON MUNICIPAL CODE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section I . Chapter 2 of Article II of the Carson Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding Section 2206 to read as follows: 2206. Enforcement Officer. The office of Enforcement Officer of the City of Carson is hereby created and established. The Enforcement Officer shall be appointed by the City Administrator and shall meet the qualifications established for the position by the City Administrator. The Enforcement Officer shall have the authority and duty to enforce the provisions of the Municipal Code and Ordinances of the City of Carson as may be from time to time designated or assigned by the City Administrator. Pursuant to California Penal Code Section 836.5, the Enforcement Officer may make arrests for violations of such municipal code or ordinances, and may issue citations for misdemeanors pursuant to California Penal Code Chapter 5C (commencing with Section 853.6) and Carson Municipal Code Article I Chapter 2. The Enforcement Officer shall be responsible for the proper performance of his duties to, and shall be subject to removal by, the City Administrator.
