HomeMy Public PortalAbout72-224 ORDINANCE NO. 72-224 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CARSON RELATING TO PREVIOUSLY ADOPTED MASONRY WALL AND PARKWAY TREE REQUIREMENTS, MAKING TECHNICAL CHANGES, AND AMENDING THE CARSON MUNICIPAL CODE i THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section I . The requirements for construction of a masonry wall between commercial or industria zones and residential zones adopted by Ordinance No. 71-172 and the requirements for parkway trees adopted by Ordinance No. 72-223, which ordinances amend the Zoning Ordinance, are hereby made a part of the Building Code, and the Carson Municipal Code is hereby amended by adopting Sections 8109 and 8110 to read: 8109. Amendment to Building Code (Masonry Wall). Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 8100, the Building Code is hereby amended by adding Section 302.1 to read: Section 302.1 . Permits (Masonry Wall Between Commercial and Industrial and Residential Zones). No bui dig ermit shall be issued for any structure or for the extension, expansion or enlargement of an existing use on any commercial or industrial zoned property on which a masonry wall is required by Section 708 of the Zoning Ordinance until such wall has been constructed or construction thereof has been provided for, and the con- struction or improvement authorized in such building permit shall not pass final inspection until such masonry wall has been constructed in accordance with said Section 708. 8110. Amendment to Building Code (Parkway Trees). Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 8100, the Building Code is ereby amended by adding Section 302.2 to read: Section 302.2. Permits (Parkway Trees). No building permit shall be issued for any construction valued in excess of $1,000 on a lot or parcel of land in a residential, commercial or industrial zoned district with respect to which parkway trees are required by Section 709 of the Zoning Ordinance until such parkway trees have been provided for and construction authorized in such building permit shall not pass final inspection until such parkway trees have been planted in accordance with said Section 709. Section 2. The Carson Municipal Code is amended by changing certain section numbers therein to eliminate duplication, as follows: The sections numbered 9121 and 9122 adopted by Ordinance No. 71-182 are renumbered as 9123 and 9124, respectively; and all subsequent sections of Chapter 1 of Article IX are renumbered as follows: Present sections 9123, 9124, 9125, 9127 and 9128 are renumbered as 91251 9126, 9127, 9128 and 9129, respectively.
