AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CARSON REGULATING
PEDDLERS NEAR SCHOOLS AND AMENDING THE CARSON
MUNICIPAL CODE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . Section 4118 of the Carson Municipal Code is hereby amended
to read:
"4118. Peddling Near Schools Prohibited. No person shall peddle,
hawk, or vend ice cream, con ectioner ,, or any other kind of goods,
within 1500 feet of the property line of any public or private school
grounds, between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. of any day
that any school is in session in or upon such school grounds.
This section shall not apply to merchants having stores within such
1500 feet as to sales made within any such store building, nor to
vendors peddling vegetables, fruits, or other such wares, solely
to householders or to business establishments located within such
1500 feet nor to delivery wagons soliciting or delivering goods
solely to householders or business establishments within such 1500
feet, nor to any Parent-Teachers Association, or committee thereof,
or similar organization, as to activities conducted wholly on school
grounds with the approval of the school authorities having jurisdiction
over such school grounds."
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Carson this 16th day of July 1973.
