AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CARSON ESTABLISH-
ING SIGN RESTRICTIONS IN THE C-1 ZONE AND AMEND-
ING THE CARSON MUNICIPAL CODE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section I . Section 9140 of the Carson Municipal Code is hereby amended
by amending su section 255(h) (2) to read as follows:
Section 255(h)(2). Not more than two business signs, subject to the
following conditions:
1. The total sign area per lot shall not exceed an area in square
feet equal to two (2) times the linear feet of lot frontage on a
public street or streets. Lot frontage on a freeway shall not be
considered in computing this figure.
11 . Pole signs in excess of thirty (30) ;feet in height shall not be
permitted.
III . The distance between ground elevation and the bottom of the
sign shall be no less than ten (10) feet.
IV. Signs shall not project into the right of way.
V. If there are more than two separate businesses on the same lot or
parcel of land and the location of not more than two signs would
constitute an unnecessary hardship and in permitting more than
two signs the spirit of this section can be observed, public safety
secured and substantial justice done, the Director may permit
additional signs.
VI. No scintillating, flashing, or revolving signs shall be permitted.
