AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CARSON REGULATING
MOTOR DRIVEN MODEL OR MINIATURE AIRPLANE LANDING
FIELDS, AIRPORTS, AIRSTRIPS, OR FLIGHT AREAS IN
RESIDENTIAL ZONES, AND DECLARING THE URGENCY THEREOF
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section I . Notwithstanding any other provision of the Carson Municipal Code
no residentiaTy zoned property in the City of Carson may be used for a landing field, airport,
airstrip, flight area, or other similar use for motor driven model or miniature airplanes other
than in the Residential Planned Development (RPD) 'District, and no such use shall be permitted
in the RPD District without a valid special use permit issued pursuant to Chapter 8, Article I
of the Carson Zoning Ordinance or City Council approval of specific events or for limited
periods of time not to exceed 120 days and on such conditions as the City Council shall prescribe .
Section 2. The Planning Commission of the City of Carson and the City Council
are underta ing studies with reference to the control of motor driven model and miniature airplane
landing fields, airports, airstrips or flight areas in the City. Pending the completion of such
studies, and in order to present during such period the development of properties in a manner
incompatible with zoning regulations and such regulations as may be proposed by the City, it is
necessary and desirable that no such uses be permitted except as provided in this ordinance.
This Ordinance is therefore declared to be an interim zoning ordinance and urgency ordinance
necessary for the protection of the health, safety and welfare of the residents of the City of
Carson and shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
Section 3. This ordinance shall expire four months from the adoption thereof unless
otherwise extended ythe City Council.

2nd day of June , 1975, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following
