AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CARSON AMENDING
THE MUNICIPAL CODE AND PROVIDING FOR AN INCREASE
IN THE SALARIES OF COUNCILMEN
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section I . Section 2301 of the Carson Municipal Code is amended to read
as follows:
"2301. Councilmen, Compensation. Each member of the City
Council shall receive a salary, the amount of which shall be deter-
mined by the schedule set forth in Section 36516 of the Government
Code of the State of California, and also as authorized by Section
36516.2 of said Government Code. Such salaries shall be payable
at the same time and in the same manner as salaries are paid to
other officers and employees of the City of Carson."
Section 2. Effective March 9, 1976, each member of the City Council shall
receive a salary of 413 per month.

January 5, 1976 was duly and regularly adopted by the City Cou%� of
said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on the day

Section 7 . Chapter 4 of Article VIII of the
Carson Municipal Code is amended by amending Section 8400
to read :
"8400 . Adoption of Mechanical Code .
The Los Angeles County Mechanical Code, being Ordinance
No . 9544 of the County of Los Angeles as amended to
and in effect on December 19 , 1975 , as contained in
the 1975 edition of the Los Angeles County Building
Laws published by the Building News, Inc . , and including
the appendix to said Los Angeles County Mechanical
Code , as amended by Ordinance No . 11 ,242 of the County
of Los Angeles, except as herein provided, is hereby
adopted by reference as the Mechanical Code of the
City of Carson, as amended by Sections 8401 , et seq. ,
of this Chapter . Said Code may be referred to as the
'Mechanical Code . '
"Three copies of said Los Angeles County
Building Laws have been deposited in the office of
the City Clerk of the City of Carson and shall be at
all times maintained by said Clerk for use and examina-
tion by the public .
Section 8 . Pursuant to Section 17958 .5 of
the Health and Safety Code of the State of California, the
City Council hereby finds that the changes and modifications
of the Uniform Mechanical Code, 1973 Edition, jointly prepared
by the International Conference of Building Officials and
the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical
Officials, made in the County of Los Angeles Mechanical
Code and made by this ordinance, are needed, being reasonably
necessary because of local conditions .

March 1976 .
