April 4, 1932 A special meeting was held today at 5 p.m. at the Town Hall on the Island, to receive the report of the election mamagers, this was attended by Mayor Gamble who presided, and Councilmen, Walthour, Espy, Cann and Logan. The following report of the election was made by the election managrs, Messrs. John J. Owen, E. E. Harmon and R. H. Manely, as follows; We, the undersigned duly appointed Managers of the 4p01�,-. election held at Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Chatham County, Ga., 1A"k upon the 4th day of April, 1932, for the purpose of electing a Mayor RB,40t, and six Councilmen, do each hereby certify under oath that the said 7,,,,M,v0,election was held in the manner and at the time contained in the 1vr notice calling said election and that the laws of the State of Ga., or Saar, and of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, were in all respects fully com- €a\ plied with and that said election was faithfully and impartially con- ducted and that the results of said election were as Collows, to-wit- Total Number of votes cast 77 Total Number of votes cast: For Thos. RESOLVED at a meeting held at Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, on the 4th day of April, 1932, by the Mayor and Councilmen of Savannah Beach, Tybee Islandl5 and-with all of the several man- agers named to conduct the election just concluded and held in the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee island, upon this 4th day of April, 1932 (Election Manager L. L Samuels being absent for providential reasons) for the purpose of electing a Mayor and six Councilmen for the next ensuing term and after return of said election had been made to the officers calling the election, and after said re- turns had been consolidated and the results of said election de- clared, which was done in the presence of and together with several managers, that the result of said election be declared as electing: - Thomas Gamble. as Mayor Sam Blumenthal as Councilman L P. Brooks as Councilman J. Ferris Cann as Councilman R. M. Demere as Councilman W. G. Ih as Councilman H. Y. Righton as Councilman. for Savannah, Beach, Tybee Island, for the next ensuing beam. It appearing from the returns of said managers, which said returns are hereby adopted and made a part hereof that all of the votes cast in said election were cast in favor of the above named Mayor and the six Councilmen. Clerk o 1 Council Mayor Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Ga., April 21, 1932. The Assessment Committee consisting of Councilmen Cann, who acted as Chairman due to the illness of Chairman Brooks, and Logan, also Mayor Gamble, met today at 4; p.m., the following property owners appeared before the Committee in protest against the assessments on their property, Mrs. K. A. Huggins, Mr. Abram Minis, Attorney for Miss Maria Minis, Br. JA 34 Johnston and Mrir and Mrs. S. P. Smith. The petitioners were heard and excused, the Committee then went into session, and it decided that the assessments on the property of Mrs. K. A. Huggins be reduced to $1254.50, that the assessments of Miss Maria, Minis and Dr. Johnston not be changed, the assess- ments on Section 2 -3 -4, Lot 14, Ward 1, the property of Mr. and Mrs. Smith be reduced to $2723.50. The Committee recommended that the 1932 licenses remain the same except for the addition of the following: Ito parking spaces, fors hire, each $50A0 Roller Coaster, for hire, each 75.00 There being no further business the meeting adjourned. 1
