Wild -Wolfe Oil Company Lease: Staff submitted a list of estimated development costs for location of the facility on the S.E. corner of the airport. It was noted that the water line extension would violate a current City ordinance prohibiting main extensions. The roadway was discussed and Mr. Braun objected to oil tankers passing within 30' of his building. It was suggested that if Mr. Wolfe would secure access between the highway and the airport on the Krahn Lane extension, as anticipated on the Master Plan, this could be resolved. Mr. Wolfe advised he was investigating the purchase of lots in Riverside Subdivision as an alternative. After discussion, Mr. Fereday moved to allow use of the S.E. corner of the airport, if Wild -Wolfe Oil will secure and deed the Krahn Lane extension access to the City and if water service can be provided. Mr. Williams seconded and the motion carried. Mr. Wolfe abstained. II. Next Meeting: The next regular meeting is Wednesday, April 4th at 7:00 a.m. at the Pancake House. III. Adjourn: At 8:00 a.m., without further business, the meeting adjourned. DATED this 2p day of March, 1990. Box 1065 McCall, Idaho 83638 RE: WILDE-WOLF BULK PLANT Dear Bud: RICHARD F ORTON JR . PE/LB PAUL S KUN2.PJLS STEvEN W HOSAC. PE,LS TIMOTHY A 8URoESS, PE CHARLES P SUNDRY. PE DAVID a POWELL, PE GLENN K BENNETT,LS The following remarks are in response to your inquiry of 2 March concerning our opinion of an alternate location for the proposed Wilde -Wolf Bulk Fuel Storage Facility on the airport.. An evaluation of the recently approved Airport Layout Plan indicates that siting the bulk plant on the East side of the airport in the Lease area is an acceptable alternative. This would relieve the concerns now expressed regarding the potential for aircraft collision with the facility. The enclosed figure indicates what We believe to be the most advantageous location. We recommend that the Fire Chief review all plans to ensure adequate lateral separation from both the hangar access taxiway end the nuto parking area. Since the area indicated is near a natural drainage we recommend careful adherence to diking and fuel spill containment requirements. In order to meet FAA lateral separation requirements it is necessary to adhere to a building set back from the taxiway centerline. The standard set back is 65 1/2 feet but it could be as little as 55 1/2 feet. We recommend the standard dimension (as indicated on the enclosed figure) in order to ensure unobstructed growth at the airport. W. further believe that construction of this bulk plant substantially increases the importance of constructing the new airport access road. This would not only allow direct access to the facility by fuel tankers but would also avoid the congestion which would ensue from fuel tankers entering the airport near Pioneer Aviation and Pioneer Air Service. This potentially dangerous congestion need not occur if the access road is constructed concurrent with the bulk plant. Finally, as indicated on the enclosed figure, we recommend construction of the bulk plant toward the south end of the lease lots and adjacent to the T--hangar buildings. This is based upon our belief that the lease sites that front on the future GA Tie ;)own Apron are the most advantageous for FRO expansion, We recommend reserving these prime sites for direct aviation related i,-{_' - r'.r _its TI_IE 1 S.-:4 T 071--ihlFit-i 0R70I-1 Eta la .
