HomeMy Public PortalAbout81-581 ORDINANCE NO. 81-581 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CARSON MODIFYING THE COMPOSITION OF THE HUMAN RESOURCES COMMITTEE AND AMENDING THE CARSON MUNICIPAL CODE The City Council of the City of Carson does ordain: Section 1 . Sections 2762 and 2764 of Chapter 7, Article II of the Carson Municipal Code are amended to read: 2762. Members. The Human Resources Committee shall consist of nine members who represent all ethnic groups and interests within the City to be appointed by and each of whom shall serve at the pleasure of the City Council . Subject to the provisions of this Section, three appointments to the Committee shall be made each year, with each appointment being for a term of three years. The term of office for each Committee member shall continue to and including June 30 of the year in which said term shall expire, and thereafter until a successor for the Committee member whose term is expiring has been appointed. Should any vacancy exist on the Human Resources Committee, an appointment shall be made in like manner for the unexpired portion of the term. 2764. Meetings. The Human Resources Committee shall hold at least one regular meeting in each month at such time and date as designated in the rules and regulations of the Committee. The Committee shall further determine and provide in its rules and regulations the manner in which special meetings may be held and the notice to be given of such meetings. Five members of the Committee shall constitute a quorum. The Committee may hold its meeting in the Council Chambers or in such other suitable place as the Committee may designate.
