A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
2015 FOURTH OF JULY STREET CLOSURE REQUESTS FROM BLOCK WATCH
CAPTAINS FOR CORNISH AVENUE, CORTLAND STREET, PALM AVENUE,
SAMPSON AVENUE AND PLATT AVENUE BLOCK WATCH GROUPS JULY 4Th
HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS AND WAIVING THE CITY SPECIAL PERMIT FEES FOR
THESE EVENTS
WHEREAS, requests have been made by the Cornish Avenue, Cortland Street,
Palm Avenue, Sampson Avenue and Platt Avenue Block Watch Captains to close
portions of their street; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the closures is to celebrate the 4th of July holiday
celebrations.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council approves the waiver of City Special Permit Fees
for the requested 2015 July 4th street closures for Block Watch Captains.
Section 2. The City Council further finds, per V.C. 21101 (e) that the closure of
these streets on July 4, 2015 during the approved event times are necessary for the
safety and protection of persons in attendance at the block parties and hereby approves
such street closures.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 16th day of June, 2015.
