PERTAINING TO TEMPORARY STANDS FOR
THE SALE OF FIREWORKS AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY THERETO
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 3101.6, Paragraph (c) of the Carson
Municipal Code which now reads as follows:
"Regulations for Temporary Stands. All temporary stands for the
sale of fireworks shall be located, maintained and operated subject to the
following provisions:
(c) No fireworks stand shall be located within a residential

is hereby amended to read:
"Regulations for Temporary Stands. All temporary stands for the
sale of fireworks shall be located, maintained and operated subject to the
following provisions:
(c) No fireworks stand shall be located within a residential
zone except in those circumstances where the City Council finds
and determines that the presence of a fireworks stand will not
be detrimental to the surrounding residential neighborhood. "
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall expire and terminate on
September 4, 1981.
SECTION 3. There exists in the City of Carson a limited number
of suitable locations for the sale of fireworks. The City Council believes it
imperative that the Council carefully review and consider the possible impact
of a fireworks sales activity upon various types of neighborhoods. In the
meantime, so as to not disrupt the planning and the preparations that many
community organizations have to date put into this year's fireworks celebration,
the Council declares an emergency exists.
This Ordinance affects the public peace, health and safety and
shall take effect immediately.
