RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE MIDPENINSULA REGIONAL PARK DISTRICT
ENDORSING THE STATE BEACH, PARK, RECREATIONAL
AND HISTORICAL FACILITIES BOND ACT OF 1974
WHEREAS, the voters of the State of California will vote at
the June 1974 primary election on the State Beach, Park,
Recreational and Historical Facilities Bond Act of 1974,
Proposition 1, authorizing a State Bond Issue in the amount
of $250 million; and
WHEREAS, the Bond Act of 1974 will provide $90 million for
grants to counties, cities, and districts for acquisition
or development of parks, recreation areas, beaches or
historical units; and
WHEREAS, the present public open space, outdoor recreation
areas and facilities are inadequate to accomnzocte the demands
made upon them at the present time and may become critically
inadequate as time progresses; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the citizens of the
State to pass the 1974 Bond Act; and
WHEREAS, it will be necessary to have as much support and
endorsement of the Bond Act as possible;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors
of the Midpeninsula Regional Park District endorses and
supports the passing of the State Beach, Park, Recreational
and Historical Facilities Bond Act of 1974.
