AMENDING CHAPTER 25 OF THE CARTE BET CODE
TABLE OF ORGANIZATION
BE IT ORDAINED by the Borough of Carteret that the Carteret Career Fire Department
shall consist of the following civil service job titles:
Section 1. Fire Chief, Fire Lieutenant and Firefighter.
Section 2. In the absence of a Fire Chief, the Borough may utilize the title of
Battalion Chief,
Section 3. The Fire Chief shall exercise all of the authority, duties and
responsibilities of the Fire Superintendent and Battalion Chief under the
Code.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication
according to applicable law.

ORDINANCE 419 -23
AMENDING CHAPTER 25 OF THE CARTERET CODE
TABLE OF ORGANIZATION
This ordinance establishes the Table of Organization for the Carteret Career
Fire Department. The foregoing ordinance was introduced at a meeting of
the Council of the Borough of Carteret held August 22, 2019 when it was
adopted on first reading. The said ordinance will be further considered on
second reading for final adoption at a meeting of said Council of the Bor-
ough of Carteret on September 19, 2019 at approximately 6:00 P.M., Bor-
ough Hall /Council Chambers, 61 Cooke Avenue, Carteret, New Jersey at
which time and place all persons interested will be given an opportunity to
be heard.
