AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CARSON ADOPTING
BY REFERENCE TITLE 10, ANIMALS, DIVISION 1,
ANIMAL CONTROL, OF THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY
CODE AND AMENDING THE CARSON MUNICIPAL CODE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. Chapter 2, Pound Regulations, of Article
III of the Carson Municipal Code is amended to read:
Chapter 3 - Pound Regulations
3300. Adoption of Animal Control Ordinance. Title
10, Animals, Division 1, Animal Control, of the Los Angeles
County Code, as amended and in effect on April 17, 1987, is
hereby adopted by reference as the Animal Control Ordinance of
the City of Carson.
A copy of the Animal Control Ordinance has been
deposited in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Carson,
and shall be at all times maintained by the Clerk for use and
examination by the public.
3301. Dogs - Dogs Defecation to be Removed by
Owners.
(a) It shall be unlawful for the owner or person
having custody of any dog to fail to immediately
remove and dispose of in a sanitary manner, by
placing in a closed or sealed container and
depositing in a trash receptacle, any feces
deposited by such dog upon public or private
property without the consent of the owner, or
person in lawful possession of the property.
(b) The provisions of this sections shall not apply to
a blind person being accompanied by a guide dog.
3302 . Dogs - Prohibited in Public Parks.
(a) It shall be unlawful for the owner or person
having custody of any dog to allow said animal to
enter upon any public park.
(b) The provisions of this section shall not prohibit
the use of dogs on park property for teaching uses
when approved by the Director of Parks and
Recreation.
3303 . Notwithstanding the provisions of Section
3300, the Animal Control Ordinance is amended by amending Section
10. 36. 330 to read:
1110. 36. 330 Animals Released - Conditions and
= Charges.
Not less than five (5) days after the taking up and
impounding of any dog or cat, or three (3) days after
the taking up and impounding of any puppy or kitten
impounded in a litter of two or more, unless it be
sooner redeemed, the director may sell such dog or cat
to any person who will pay the reasonable value of such
dog or cat, but in no case less than the below-listed
fee or may destroy such dog or cat. In the case of the
sale of a dog, the purchaser also shall procure and pay
for the required license for such dog for the current
year.

3304 . Violation - Penalty.
(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) any person
violating any of the provisions of this Chapter is guilty of an
infraction, which is punishable as provided in Section 1200 (b) of
this Code.

of the Animal Control Ordinance is a misdemeanor punishable by a
fine not exceeding $500. 00, or by imprisonment in the County Jail
for a period not exceeding six months, or by both such fine and
imprisonment.
