AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CARSON
PROHIBITING THE SALE OF MERCHANDISE FROM A
NON-MOTORIZED VEHICLE ON CITY STREETS AND
AMENDING THE CARSON MUNICIPAL CODE
The City Council of the City of Carson does ordain as
follows:
Section 1. The Carson Municipal Code is hereby amended
by adopting and adding thereto a new Section 4126 to read as
follows:
114126. Sales From Nonmotorized Vehicles On
City Streets Prohibited
No person shall use a pushcart, handcart or other
non-motorized vehicle to sell or in connection with the
sale of ice cream, popsicles, confections, food, or
other goods, wares or merchandise in or on any public
street, sidewalk or park in the City of Carson. "
Section 2 . Section 63143 of the Carson Municipal Code
is hereby amended to read:
1163143. Peddlers.
Every person engaged in the business of peddling,
selling or delivering liquids or edibles for human
consumption from packs, baskets, or motor vehicles,
either retail or wholesale, except dairy products and
except persons selling or delivering, or both, to
retail or wholesale establishments 'for resale,
agricultural products raised by them, shall first
procure a permit therefor.
A person engaged in the business of peddling,
selling or delivering liquids or edibles for human
consumption from packs, baskets or vehicles, either
retail or wholesale, shall not remain or permit his
pack, basket or motor vehicle to remain in any one
location for the purpose of sale or display of liquids
or .edibles for more than a total of thirty (30) minutes
during any twenty-four (24) hour period. "
Section 3. Any person violating the provisions of
section 4126 of the Carson Municipal Code, hereby adopted, shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not more than
$1, 000. 00, or by imprisonment in the County Jail for a period not
exceeding six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
Each sale in violation of said section shall constitute a
separate offense and shall be punishable accordingly.

hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of said City is
five; that the foregoing ordinance, being Ordinance No. 88-835 passed first reading
on March 1, 1988, was duly and regularly adopted by the City Council of said City
at a regular meeting of said Council , duly and regularly held on the 15th day, of
March 19 88 and that the same was passed and adopted by the following
roll call vote:
